BIOGRAPHY

Fernanda Duso was born in Valdobbiadene, Treviso. She lives and works in Padua.

She took her diploma in 1963 at the Art Institute “P. Selvatico” in Padua and in 1967 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice studying under Bruno Saetti.

She started to exhibit her paintings in 1968.

Since 1998 she has been enrolled as an associate member at the “Interdepartmental Colour and Art Studies Centre” (General psychology Department at Padua University).

From 1995 to 2001 she has been very much involved in portraits painting and at the same time carried on her thirty-year studies in the field of nudes.

She has been teaching for many years.

In 85/87 she exhibited her first black and white textures (the four elements) in Venice at S. Vidal Gallery.

Meanwhile she has been involved in set designs, costumes, painting on silk and pictures of scientific works.

She paints portraits on commission.

In 1998 she made her first abstract watercolours “ of a perceptive tone” as Paolo Rizzi pointed out in his critical presentation at the “Art Exhibition” in Padua in 2001.

In 2002 Padua Town Council organized for her at Palazzo Moroni a personal exhibition called “Eclettici percorsi” promoted by Gabriella Villani who also produced the catalogue.

In 2004 she started to print on canvas digital textures both monochromatic and coloured, expressed either by striving after optical effects or manually with colours and shapes in order to recreate space and meaning together with ancient textural signs.

In 2004 she took part in the exhibition “Evidenza e apparenza” at Padua Art Gallery where she exhibited two digital paintings of large dimensions, as well as watercolours.

In 2005 she took part in many exhibitions. “Passeggiata Effimera” at Montegrotto and in all those linked to “Padiglione Italia” under the direction of G: Da Lio, A. De Stefani, Elena Agudio, P. Daverio.

In 2006 Padua Art Gallery make her personal exhibition: 'Tracciati Di Luce'.

In 2007 is her personal exhibition 'Tracciati' organized by Biblioteca P.P.Pasolini of Cadoneghe, Padova.

Now, she is engaged in the study of the master Padua Graziano Visintin.

In 2010, the Quartiere Centro with the Comune di Padova, organizes a retrospective exhibition at the Palazzo Moroni, where he also exhibited a small selection of gold ware

In 2013 she exhibits with A.G.C. works of design golden wares at Senigallia, at Padova, at Treviso in Cà de Ricchi, at Venezia in Cà Pisani and attends “Ring Party” at Padova.

Upon invitation, she exhibits at the second edition of the international award Mario Pinton “Homage to Donatello” in San Rocco Oratory at Padova.

In 2014 she is involved with clay and Raku pottery moulding attending different courses.

During 2015 she exhibits some clay wares with the association “Officina delle Arti Libere” of Padova.

In 2016 she is present together with her colleagues G. Cecchetto, B. Ostani and S. Giacometti at the exhibition “ORI-ENTAMENTI” held in San Rocco Oratory. In that occasion she exhibits 22 golden wares pieces and 18 in Raku pottery ones mentioned in the catalogue.

In 2017 she exhibits with the ERBA MATTA association, inside the garden of Villa Vescovi located in Luvigliano (Padova), an installation named “Ancient View” engraved in black on transparent plexiglass.

1965 – VE, “Concorso Scalabrini” riservato agli allievi delle Accademie di Belle Arti, Premio Acquisto. 1977 – Bassano (VI): II Premio Internazionale “J. Da Ponte. 1981 – Rimini, premio “Zeus d'oro”. 1990 – PD “Padova Colore” : Secondo premio per il ritratto.

E' iscritta come membro esterno del Centro Interdipartimentale Studi Colore e Arte (Dipartimento di Psicologia Generale dell'Università degli Studi di Padova).
